Maryland Day is the University of Maryland’s largest community outreach event. The campus-wide celebration includes over 300 activities in five “learning neighborhoods” that encourage attendees to tap into our fearless world of discovery and new ideas.

Admission and on-campus parking are free on Maryland Day. All events and activities taking place at the event are free of charge.

Whether you’re a current student or prospective student, faculty or staff member, graduate, fan, or member of the surrounding community, Maryland Day has something for everyone.

No, registration is not required to attend Maryland Day.

Yes, the event will be hosted rain or shine, except in the event of weather that poses a safety threat to attendees. Visit marylandday.umd.edu for updates or join our email list.

All on-campus garages and some parking lots will be open, even those usually restricted to UMD permit holders. It is recommended that visitors park at the Xfinity Center, Terrapin Trail Garage or Stadium Drive Garage. There is no fee to park on campus on Maryland Day. 

Accessible parking is available in most lots and garages on campus, and guests with a state-issued license plate or hang tag can park in any marked space.

Visitors traveling in buses, campers or other large vehicles should park on the north side of campus, in lots NN and P1. The lots will be marked as "bus parking only."

Complimentary shuttle transportation will be provided, with buses servicing all main parking lots and garages. Shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible.

Use the campus map to find the latest accessible walking and wheelchair routes on campus. 

Take the Green Line train toward Greenbelt and get off at the College Park/U of MD station. The university's Shuttle-UM Route 104 buses pick up university-bound passengers on the east side of the Metrorail station. Download the Route 104 schedule or Shuttle-UM transit app.

No, mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers or scooters are not provided.

A significant number of activities take place outside, including some on the grass. In these instances, UMD makes every effort to make navigating the terrain easier. Additionally, some areas, such as McKeldin Mall, are on a hill, which may be more challenging to navigate. Paved entry points all around the mall may make navigation easier.

Yes. Attendees may bring their own food to enjoy. Keep a refillable water bottle handy to stay hydrated throughout the event; filling stations are available in every open building.

Please contact the event organizers at marylandday@umd.edu at least two weeks prior to the event to request disability accommodations (e.g. large-type printouts, ASL interpretation, etc.). Please include the name of the activities you would like to participate in, based on the list available. In all situations, a good faith effort (up until the time of the event) will be made to provide accommodations.

Printed maps will be available at the information booths placed around campus. As the event approaches, the full list of activities and an interactive map will be published on marylandday.umd.edu.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from on-campus dining halls and the food courts in the Stamp Student Union and on McKeldin Mall. Learn more about dining options on campus. Attendees may bring food to enjoy. Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the event—filling stations are available in every open building.

The concession stands will only accept credit and debit cards as a form of payment.

Yes. All open buildings will have access to restrooms.

Yes. Leashed pets are permitted in outdoor spaces on Maryland Day. Please be sure to pick up after them.

No, tickets are not required for the Spring Game.

By taking part in this event you grant the University of Maryland full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in print collateral and online publicity, social media and press releases.

Tents on McKeldin Mall are usually removed by the next morning, but we are unable to guarantee a time everything will be cleared on Sunday. Please plan to coordinate photo shoots around Maryland Day when possible.

UMD faculty and staff can request exhibitor space through their unit or department’s Maryland Day planning liaison.

UMD student groups recognized by the SGA can request to exhibit at Stamp. 

A select number of sponsorship packages are available for external exhibitors that have an existing partnership or relationship with the university. External merchandise and food vending are not permitted at the event.

To be considered for a performance on the main stage, UMD student groups recognized by the SGA are encouraged to submit the interest form by February 28, 2025.
